Ittels, the Inventors

Apparently, inventiveness has been a characteristic of Ittels.  There have been a number of Ittels with issued or pending US, French or German patents.  Those of Steve Ittel may be viewed elsewhere.  The rest are given below.

JENS C. ITTEL

Jens C. Ittel has recently appeared recently on the patent scene and has a series of US patent applications (none yet granted) for a variety of software components and architectures.

US20060101442 A1

Reusable software components

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implement techniques for structuring applications into reusable components. A reusable component having an external interface and an internal interface is implemented. The component encapsulates functionality, where multiple instances of the component are reusable at the same time. The component is configurable to embed one or more specified components. The external interface comprises an external programming interface, an external data-binding interface, and an external visual interface. The internal interface comprises an embedding interface, an internal programming interface, an internal data-binding interface, and an internal visual interface. The embedding interface specifies one or more component interfaces of components that can be embedded.

Software logistics for pattern-based applications

Methods and apparatus including computer program products implement techniques for developing and deploying applications using configurable patterns. Configuration data is received for a pattern, and the configuration data is stored in a design store. The pattern defines an arrangement of user interface elements and specifies predefined actions that can be performed using the user interface elements. The configuration data specifies associations between one or more of the user interface elements or one or more objects in a back-end system. The configuration data is transferred from the design store to a design time repository, and the application is deployed corresponding to the configuration data.

US20050257210 A1

Upgrading pattern configurations

Methods and systems, including computer program products, implementing techniques for upgrading pattern configurations. The techniques include receiving configuration for a pattern, determining whether the configuration is current with respect to the pattern, automatically upgrading the configuration if the configuration is not current, and using the configuration to modify one or more predefined elements of an application.

Software component architecture

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, implement techniques for structuring applications into reusable components. A reusable software component is implemented. The component encapsulates functionality, where multiple instances of the component are usable at the same time. The component has at least one visual representation. The component has a programming interface for programmatic interaction with the component, a data- binding interface for data communication with the component, and a visual interface to access the at least one visual representation of the component.

Developing applications using a metamodel

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for developing an application. The development includes the use of a data model (e. g., a metamodel represented using UML) from which an API is derived. The API can include features derived from customizable extensions within the data model.

Development environment for developing applications using a metamodel

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for developing an application. The development includes the use of a data model (e. g., a metamodel represented using UML) from which an API is derived. The API can include features derived from customizable extensions within the data model.

US20050071749 A1

Developing and using user interfaces with views

Methods and apparatus, including computer program products, for developing user interfaces with views and executing applications with such user interfaces. User input is received specifying a view composition. The view composition includes a set of views, a layout of the views, and at least one navigation link. Each view includes a layout of one or more user interface elements selected from a set of user interface elements. Each navigation link specifies a potential transition from one view in the set of views to another view in the set of views. The view composition is stored in a repository. A user interface can be generated according to the layout of views specified in the view composition, and modified based on the navigation links. In some embodiments, views can be nested. In addition, view compositions can be associated with application components, can include views from nested components, and can be modified dynamically.

JEAN-MICHEL ITTEL

Jean-Michel Ittel has had a series of patents assigned to the Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique.

US5606260 A

Microdevice for measuring the electromagnetic characteristics of a medium including a shield

A microdevice is provided for measuring the electromagnetic characteristics of a medium in a borehole. The microdevice includes at least one emitting or transmitting coil, and at least one receiving coil.  The microdevice generates an A.C. voltage at the terminals of the transmitting coil and measures a signal at the terminals of the receiving coil. The microdevice also includes an E-shaped electrically insulating, soft magnetic material circuit serving as a support for each of the coils and which is positioned adjacent to the medium in the borehole.

US4300048 A

Alarm detector responsive to rate change of a monitored condition

A physical quantity such as temperature, infrared radiation or smoke is detected by means of a conversion device for emitting an alarm signal whose amplitude is representative of the intensity of the physical quantity. The detector comprises a unit for measuring relative variations of the signal in time, for comparing them with a preset threshold level and for actuating the alarm when they exceed the threshold level.

Alarm detector responsive to rate of change of a monitored condition

A physical quantity such as temperature, infrared radiation or smoke is detected by means of a conversion device for emitting an alarm signal whose amplitude is representative of the intensity of the physical quantity. The detector comprises a unit for measuring relative variations of the signal in time, for comparing them with a preset threshold level and for actuating the alarm when they exceed the threshold level.

US4048574 A

Method and a device for eliminating the residual error voltage of an amplifier

The connections between the two inputs of an amplifier and the two outputs of a signal source as well as between the outputs of the amplifier and the inputs of a downstream output element into which the amplifier delivers a signal are inverted periodically and simultaneously and integration is carried out between the outputs of the amplifier and the inputs of the output element. In addition, the inputs of the amplifier are short-circuited periodically, the frequencies of inversion and of short-circuiting being multiples of each other.
